About Us
From Forgotten to Family Dog Rescue is a foster-based rescue dedicated to rescuing abandoned, homeless, and at-risk dogs, specifically bully breeds and seniors. Through compassionate care, behavioral rehabilitation, medical support, and thoughtful adoption matching, we help every dog heal, thrive, and find a loving forever family while strengthening our community through education and advocacy.
What Makes Us Different?
We believe every dog deserves more than just a safe place to stay—they deserve the chance to truly thrive. Unlike many rescues, we intentionally keep our intake small, caring for only two to three dogs at a time so each one receives individualized attention in a home environment rather than a kennel. Every dog is provided with high-quality nutrition, comprehensive veterinary care, enrichment, and personalized training to help them build confidence and lifelong skills. We also require adopters to enroll in training with our trainer before bringing their new dog home, ensuring both the dog and family have the support they need for a successful transition. Our focus isn't on the number of dogs we can save—it's on creating lasting placements where dogs stay in their homes for life, never becoming another return statistic.
Meet The Co-Founders
Jami –
With over 20 years of experience working with pit bulls and bully breeds, Jami has dedicated her life to advocating for some of the most misunderstood dogs. Experienced in dog training and behavior, she was inspired by her soul dog, Creed, an American Bulldog whose legacy continues to fuel her passion for rescue. Jami has a special love for senior dogs and is committed to giving them the compassion, dignity, and second chance they deserve. She believes every dog deserves to be understood for who they are, not judged by their breed or age. Jami brings decades of experience, unwavering dedication, and a deep belief that every dog deserves a loving forever home.
Tate –
Growing up with pit mixes taught Tate the importance of advocating for misunderstood breeds from an early age. At just 15½ years old, Tate began working as a veterinary technician and spent the next eight years gaining hands-on experience in animal medicine. While veterinary medicine provided a strong foundation, Tate's true passion is dog training—especially behavior modification. Inspired by Groovy, a rescued pit mix with behavioral challenges, Tate discovered a love for helping dogs build confidence and overcome obstacles through training. Tate combines veterinary experience, training knowledge, and a lifelong passion for bully breeds to give every dog individualized care, setting them up for lasting success in their forever home.
